Saturday: This was a tough one, where I used my “free day” for this week. I know, I know, I shouldn’t do that on the first day of my week, but it was Allison’s 30th birthday bash. Her BF rented a chauffeured mini-bus to take us to a bunch of wineries in central Texas. It was awesome. I did well – ate a reasonable lunch of grilled chicken sandwich and I didn’t start drinking at 10:30am like so many of the admittedly awesome people on the trip. I caved at the dinner by eating some of the pizza and going for the beer. Then my sister showed up at my house with friends in tow, so I was up till 2:30am drinking light beer. I didn’t drink too much and had a bunch of water, so I’m still ok with myself.
Sunday: Woke up to Marc’s crepes, which was wonderful. It’s possible to have just one, eat some egg and have a cup of coffee and stay WELL within calorie ranges! I didn’t exercise at all on Sunday – but I stayed a little below my calorie range and (on Monday morning) still lost weight. I was exhausted from staying up on Saturday and waking up before 7 on Sunday, so I went to bed early.
Monday: I rocked today – stayed on task nutritionally (only had to remind myself that “hunger is not an emergency” once or twice) and then kept on track fitness-wise. Went on a bike ride to the lake and then did some lifting with Marc while watching the Daily Show. I even did an extra 10 minutes of light yoga to get some stretching in! Awesome day.
Tuesday: I rocked today AGAIN! The plateau thing is pissing me off, so I’m going to just focus on not falling off the damn wagon. I ran with Isis, who appears to be recovered from her weird foot “injury.” Bailey and I “romped” again and I out ran him by the end.
I also made a good decision this weekend and did NOT go out to another D. happy hour. So far, husband has been there for 4.5 hours, so I know I made the right choice. (And yes, I’m happy he’s having a good time because he has more self control with that stuff than I do so I’d hate to hold him back with my issues. Plus, I got a lot of plastering done in the kitchen and got to watch Biggest Looser.)
Wednesday: Met my first goal of the day by getting up nearly right away.
Was downstairs, eating breakfast by 8:30am, so that’s the first check off. Took it easy on cardio today by just riding the bike to the grocery store to get some Diet Sunkist. In the evening, I was hungry even after eating a nummy dinner of Blue Cheese Crusted Filet with a small amount of red potatoes. Marc & I split a bottle of red wine from our wine country trip and had some crackers and Sweedish Fontina cheese. It was fabulous. And when I woke up on Thursday, my weight was down again. :p
Thursday: Ok, got up a smidge later today – ate at 9am instead of 8:30am. Still ate well and got my run in with Isis! Based on my increased workout minutes, the nutrition program at SparkPeople increased my minimum calories, so based on that new number, I stayed within my range! Overall, I’m a little nervous about this increase in eating, but it was nice to have a big serving of lean beef with dinner!
Friday: Today, I didn’t work out at all really.
I have a friend to meet for a drink this evening and company coming all weekend, so I was cleaning the house all day. Now it’s too late to go get sweaty and still meet Alex for the drink! Yikes! I’ve done well on my nutrition today, but this evening and this weekend will be a challenge!
Basically, this week, I’m giving myself an A. The day off on Saturday and the wine on Wednesday night were both good examples of me embracing moderation when things don’t follow my plan. If I ever have an alcohol free week where I meet all my workout goals, then I get the “+”, but I’m happy with this week and the 2lb loss. Now I just need to post my fav links of the week and then I’m off to vaccume the guest bedroom!!
